The short version: it's your network, and you are responsible for how it is used.
We install, configure and, if you choose, maintain software on hardware you own or rent, and we may write software for you. What exactly is included is set out in the agreement or quote for your project.
Setup is paid in two parts: half before we start, the rest at handover — administrative access is handed over once it is paid. Care is paid in advance, monthly or yearly. Apps we write are paid by stages, and the rights to their code pass to you on full payment. We invoice every payment; pay by bank transfer or card, or by other methods by arrangement.
If care is not renewed, it ends at the end of the paid period: updates and support stop, and your network keeps running as it is. A coordination server of ours, if you use one, is a paid service like care and ends the same way, with at least 14 days' notice so you can move to your own. If you withdraw our access during a paid period, our responsibility for the system ends with it; the period is not refunded.
You own and operate your network. You decide who joins it and what it carries, and you are responsible for its lawful use, for the people you give access to, and for complying with the laws that apply to you — including data protection, telecommunications and export rules.
We don't work for anyone who intends to use the network for crime, fraud, abuse of others, attacks on other systems or the distribution of unlawful content. We may decline a project, or stop work and end an agreement, if we have good reason to believe it is used that way.
We don't monitor, store or control what passes through your network, and we are not a party to it. Access we are given for maintenance is used only for that.
We do the work with care, but the software is provided as it is, without a promise that it fits every purpose or never fails. Beyond what the law does not allow us to exclude, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question in the preceding twelve months, and we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damage. Keep your own backups.
Much of what runs your network is free and open-source software under its own licences, which apply to it as written.
We may update these terms; the version on this page applies to new agreements. Your signed agreement, where there is one, takes precedence.
